For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the term "fishing creel", this was a specially shaped basket, often made of willow, with leather straps which was used to store and carry the fish that had been caught and keep them fresh and cool. There are special canvas creels still used by fishermen today.

THE "SMALL FRY" GIFT BASKET
When a smaller gift is "just enough", our "Small Fry" fishing gift basket is sure to please. Our smaller fishing creel contains some of the essential items that carry out the fishing theme. The delicious smoked salmon and gummi worm "fish bait" are still present as are the pot-hanger frog and one "fish" pen. Also included is a large package of crispy water crackers --- the perfect companion for the smoked salmon.
As you can see, we send this gift basket all decked out with a beautiful two-toned bow and an artificial cattail. Although we are all for "natural" materials, we opted for this type of cattail as we doubt that anyone would enjoy opening the box to find a big pile of cattail fluff! (If you live in an area where cattails grow, you may have experienced the "cattail wars" when neighborhood kids would use the ripe cattails as missiles. Our whole street was sometimes awash in cattail fluff.)
